Timothy Dywelska.
Toronto → Melbourne. Twenty‑three years and counting.

Tim Dywelska started tattooing in Toronto in the 1990s. By the end of that decade he had moved to Melbourne and — apart from the occasional guest spot — he has been here ever since, working out of Room 324 at Vic Market Tattoo on Raglan St, North Melbourne VIC 3051.
His subject is the Japanese tradition: irezumi. Dragons through cloud, koi against current, phoenix and tiger, full body suits built across years. Each piece is drawn freehand for the body it will live on — no flash on the wall, no repeated designs.
Between sessions Tim paints — sumi ink and vermillion on washi paper. The painting feeds the tattooing and the tattooing feeds the painting. Both are one continuous practice.
“The line doesn't care how long you've been drawing it. You still have to listen.”

Sumi & vermillion.
